Vendini is one of the leading companies in mobile ticketing. The company recently announced that it is releasing new mobile capabilities that will now enable its patrons to use their smartphones (iPhone App or Android App of choice) to buy tickets and also gain access to concerts, sporting events, and other live performances without ever having to touch a piece of paper.
In a release, Mark Tacchi, Vendini CEO and founder, said, “Our new release makes it possible to take the entire ticketing experience to the patron’s smartphone. Mobile ticketing isn’t just a convenience for patrons, though, it increases efficiency and revenue for venues. It simplifies ticket purchasing and decreases costs associated with handling paper tickets.”
Venues that use Vendini will now have the ability to create their own QR codes for ticket purchase. Since it is estimated that more than 82.2 million Americans use a smartphone, they will now have the option to easily scan the code off a print ad, direct mail piece or even an online site and then go on to easily purchase a ticket. They will immediately receive a confirmation via email. Finally, when they arrive at the event, their phone will get scanned, after which they will be admitted into the venue and no paper will be used.
Mark Guarnera, Vendini Executive Vice President, said, “So far, response from patrons has been overwhelmingly positive. QR codes make attending events much simpler for the growing number of patrons who use smartphones to help manage their time crunched schedules.”
